Bridges to a better future

The Argus -  23rd July 2009

A woman is to take part in a fundraising five-mile walk in memory of her fiancé, who died suddenly from a heart condition.

Emma Anderson, 38, from East Grinstead, will join hundreds of other walkers for the Heart of London Bridges Walk on Sunday, set up by Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

Her fiancé Paul Mulford died during a cycle ride in May, aged 39.  Emma said: "Paul and I were due to be married this December and we had a bright future ahead of us - a future which has been cruelly taken away.

"If we had known that Paul had a heart defect he could have sought treatment and altered his lifestyle accordingly."

The walk will start at Victoria Embankment and finish at the Hay's Galleria near London Bridge.  CRY is hoping to raise £80,000 from the walk.  To make a donation go to www.justgiving.com/emmaandersonpaul

For more information or to take part in the walk call the CRY office on 01737 363 222 to go to www.c-r-y.org.uk/bridges_walk_2009.htm.
