Children's charity Cardiac Risk in the Young,
(CRY) which is based in Tadworth, has received an extra special start to
Spring by being chosen as one of 90 deserving winners of a £10,000
Children's Charity Award from NatWest Bank.
The £1 million Children's Charity Awards were
launched last December by NatWest and the Daily Mail newspaper to give away
the amount to UK children's charities.
CRY received an overwhelming number of nominations
from staff at NatWest and the public.
CRY children's charity was founded in 1995 to
raise awareness of the risk of cardiac problems in the young - sudden death
and sudden death syndrome.
Paul Wheeler, regional manage for NatWest Surrey,
said: "It was a pleasure to visit this charity and find out more about the
good work it is doing. This year we decided to focus our annual £1
million charity donation on organisations that support children going
through difficult times."
Chris Grayling, Conservative MP for Epsom and
Ewell, commented: "I was delighted to be invited along to the CRY
headquarters based in Tadworth, when they received their share of the bank's
generous £1 million charity giveaway.
"This money will go a long way to supporting this
charity and will ensure that they can continue to support families not only
in Epsom and Ewell, but across the whole country."
