Hungry staff joined in a roving feast and chomped
for charity in memory of a fun-loving 18-year-old.
Mark Marden, formerly of Huntington, in York, died
of sudden heart failure earlier this year.
His father, Russell Marden, works in the IT
department at Norwich Union, and his colleagues decided to rally round and
raise funds for the charity CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young.
Pam Dickins, who organised the event, said:
"Everybody had a brilliant evening and we raised £1,200, which we're hoping
Norwich Union is going to match. We had three different meals in three
different places, starting with canapés and drinks at the Biltmore Bar &
Grill.
"We then moved on to La Tasca for paella and ended
at HaHa Bar for pudding."
Earlier this year, Russell spoke to The Press
about his sense of loss following the death of his son, Mark, to acute
myocarditis - a rare viral infection that can affect anyone.
