The first screening involved 289 teenagers between the ages of 15 and 18 and took place in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis in Spring 2002

Power firm kicks in to aid cardiac appeal

Doreen Harley is striving to raise more than £6,000 for a screening session to test youngsters for signs of undiagnosed heart conditions, one of which killed her daughter.  The CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) campaigner was overwhelmed when Scottish Power offered to make a donation of £1,000 towards the worthy cause.
