A message from the London Triathlon Team: “We can confirm today that the 2020 London Triathlon has been postponed to 2021. We have been regularly monitoring the Covid-19 situation and liaising with the relevant London authorities and listening to participant feedback regarding your inability to prepare as you would like for the event. Based on the continuation of the lockdown measures and the ongoing nature of the pandemic, we do not feel it would be appropriate to proceed with the event at this time. We understand that this will be very disappointing, if not unexpected news.
Your entry will be automatically deferred to next year’s event when we hope that you will join us for what will be a very special edition of the London Triathlon.
Due to the scale and complexity of organising such a large central London event, particularly at this time, sourcing an alternative date in 2020 is not feasible. Therefore, our energies are now focused on making the 2021 London Triathlon the greatest ever.
The London Triathlon traditionally takes place on the last weekend of July or the first weekend of August. We are working with the local authorities and stakeholders to confirm the new date for 2021. We anticipate that the new date will be confirmed by late summer/early Autumn. We will update you with that date as soon as we have confirmation.”
