Dr Andrew D’Silva

Andrew DSilvaAndrew graduated from Royal Free and University College Medical School in 2007 with distinction, having also completed an intercalated BSc degree in Molecular Medicine, achieving 1st Class honors and placement on the Dean’s List.

Andrew spent his Foundation years working in his home county of Essex, later returning to London where he attained membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2010 and went on to gain a National Training Number in Cardiology.

Since then, he has worked for three years as a Cardiology Specialist Registrar in Kent, Sussex and London. In his spare time, he instructs on Advanced Life Support courses (since 2009) and is dedicated to improving the outcomes of cardiac arrest sufferers.
In 2014, he successfully obtained a Clinical Research Fellow post from Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) to study for a PhD at St George’s, University of London under the supervision of the eminent Professor Sanjay Sharma.

Andrew’s research interests include cardiac remodeling in exercise, particularly relating to increased left ventricular trabeculation and whether there may be any association with heart muscle disease.

Away from work Andrew enjoys running and playing football and tennis.
