Kimberley Beecher and her family have decided to hold charity ball in memory of both Simon Beecher and Philomena Beecher to help raise money for the charity CRY.
Alongside this, they have also set up the “Simon and Philomena Beecher Memorial Trust” in memory of their loved ones so that the money can be used to give back to the local community. If Kimberley and her family are able to raise enough money, they can offer a free heart screening session to young people in Portsmouth to help prevent these problems.
“Both were taken suddenly at the young ages of 31 and 45. They suffered heart attacks that were bought on suddenly and the family were left to pick up the pieces. After the second tragic event, the loss of Simon, Kimberley and her family decided they wanted to give back to the local community of Portsmouth, where they had all lived, loved and laughed together.
Kimberley discovered ‘CRY – Cardiac Rick in the Young’ after being referred by her Doctor for a medical screening and so decided to host a ball in Simon and Philomena’s honour on 16th August 2019 to raise money for CRY.
The family thought it would be a nice opportunity to come together, share memories and joy of their time with Simon and Philomena, but also open the event to the public to help educate others on the heart and potential risks everyone could face”
