In memory of David Egerton
The family have asked for donations made following David’s funeral to be made in support of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
In 2006 David took part in the Bath Half Marathon as part of a team of former Bath and England Rugby players in memory of Sebastian English (15) in support of CRY. The team raised an amazing amount of over £100,000.
The money raised was used to help establish CRY’s Centre for Cardiac Pathology. The centre allows coroners to refer cases directly and receive a full report of the actual cause of death, usually within 2 weeks. Previously, some families have to endure a wait of anything from three to eighteen months for answers after the tragedy of a Young Sudden Cardiac Death.
