Shirley Wort received a Chairty Hero medal and certificate from CRY for 2017. Shirley’s son, Julian died in March 2000, and in memory of him, Shirley and her husband, Dave set up the Julian Wort Memorial Fund with CRY. Since then, over £42,000 has been raised providing two ECG machines and two defibrilators to local hospitals, and organised four screening days for young people to have their hearts checked.
