Now in its 10th year, the success of CRY’s Durham Walk is thanks to the continued support of our participants and sponsors. The walk enables participants to show support for CRY, remember/support those affected and help raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death. The route runs through Durham City Centre and is approximately 8 km/5 miles long. It starts and finishes at Durham Amateur Rowing Club and attracts CRY supporters from around the North-East of England.
Since 2010, over 1,500 participants have taken part in the event, raising over £77,000, which has supported CRY’s vital work.
This is a great opportunity for a company to promote their brand to CRY’s large supporter base as well as to members of the general public who will be enjoying a day out in Durham City Centre. Sponsoring this event can also enhance your image showing your commitment and concern for a worthy cause.
There are various sponsorship opportunities for this event. As with most sponsorship, your logo and name will appear on a variety of leaflets and posters on the day, on our website and with the potential to feature in a variety of regional media sources that promote the event. Your support will also be acknowledged via our Facebook page with over 30,000 likes and on our Twitter account that has over 17,000 followers and also on our Instagram, with over 4,000 followers before and after the event.
In addition to promoting your brand, supporting this event could also provide your staff members with volunteering opportunities and the chance to participate in the walk itself. We are keen to work with companies in a way that makes the best use of their resources and staff, whilst offering employees the opportunity for community involvement.
We always try to keep the costs of goods and services as low as possible, without, of course, compromising on the quality of our events. However, there will always be costs that we can’t avoid, so any donation would be much appreciated. Our overall aim is to ensure that our event costs are covered, allowing all sponsorship raised by our participants to go directly towards funding our vital work.
