OUR STORY. Without warning one November evening in 2017, Celia’s previously healthy daughter Kate at the age of 22, suddenly collapsed from a cardiac arrest. Thanks to the skill and efforts from a lot of amazing people, she survived and pulled through. But once out of hospital and back home, Kate and her family felt isolated and overwhelmed by what had happened. There seemed to be no support network geared up for young cardiac patients. Then someone mentioned the charity CRY to them. Through CRY Kate met other young people who had been through similar experiences, some of whom also had a S-I.C.D. fitted. This helped her greatly, and gradually she was able to get back into the routine of life, and back to full time work. Since then they have learned what an amazing charity CRY is, and how they can help young people along with their families. The aim of this event is to try and raise not just money for CRY, but awareness for the charity too.
