This is our most popular event so demand always exceeds the number of places we are able to obtain, so we advise you to apply as soon as possible. Although, the places are not offered on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Every application is looked at individually in its own right. Please include as much information as you feel comfortable providing, about your reasons for supporting CRY and how you plan to fundraise.
If you have used the CRunCH system in the past but are making a new application for 2020 – i.e. not a rollover from 2019 – then please remember to choose a new password. Choosing the same password will invalidate your entry.
We welcome ballot place runners and offer the same support, fundraising materials and running vest or techno T-shirt as our Golden Bond runners receive.
If you have any family or friends who have a ballot place and wish to run for CRY, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01737 363222.
The pledge for a CRY place in the Virgin Money London Marathon 2020 is £1,900, which includes a non-refundable £50 registration fee to be paid when asked to set up a Virgin Money Giving page once a CRY place has been confirmed.
As the Virgin Money London Marathon is a core funding event for CRY, all money raised from a CRY place will go towards our core funding initiatives. It is, therefore, not possible to allocate sponsorship raised using CRY places, to specific projects that a ringfenced memorial fund has set a target for.
If you have a family history of Young Sudden Cardiac Death and/or Cardiac Condition, we would require you to sign a statement to say you have discussed your wish to run with your cardiologist, and you have both come to an agreement that it is ok for you to run the London Marathon. If you haven’t yet been screened, we can provide you with information regarding this.
