young individuals screened by CRY have been detected with a condition that requires monitoring and could cause a problem in later life.

Every week in the UK, at least 12 young people die from undiagnosed heart conditions. Since its formation in 1995, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) has been dedicated to reducing the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD).

In 2009, CRY’s groundbreaking research revealed that the true incidence of YSCD is 12 young people aged 35 and under every week, when CRY was founded the incidence was thought to be one per week. CRY’s efforts have led to a deeper understanding of these conditions, improved patient care, and the development of a cardiac screening program aimed at preventing young lives from being part of this tragic statistic.

Your donation to CRY today will support our vital screening and research programmes, enabling us to offer more screening appointments and fund research fellows specialising in cardiology. Together, we can save young lives.

Every young person should have the choice.

CRY runs an amazing screening programme for the young. Our granddaughter had a heart condition we didn't know about, that was diagnosed at one of their screening sessions

I owe my life to CRY - without a CRY screening I wouldn't have known I had WPW and had the opportunity to be treated

You saved my daughter's life. If she hadn’t attended a screening day she wouldn’t be here now. Eternally grateful for the hard work you do.

My son is one of those luckily enough to have been screened, an issue detected, and procedure carried out a fortnight later. He is now reviewed regularly, and we are forever indebted to CRY. We were told by his cardiac team he most likely wouldn’t have made it to Christmas if he had not been screened

I’ll forever be grateful to CRY. My husband probably wouldn’t be with us now if they hadn’t picked up a heart condition from their free screening service.
