Help us save young lives

At Cardiac Risk in the Young, we’re on a mission to prevent young sudden cardiac death. With your support, we can make a life-saving difference.

Every week in the UK, 12 young people die suddenly from undiagnosed heart conditions.

“In 1993, my friend Howard English tragically passed away on the rugby pitch at the age of 32 due to an undiagnosed cardiac condition. Eleven years later, his son Sebastian fell victim to the same cause. 12 young people a week continue to lose their lives in similar circumstances, when it can be prevented. With your support, we can save young lives.”

Simon Halliday – CRY Patron & Former England Rugby International

By choosing to support Cardiac Risk in the Young, you'll be providing crucial funding to support our efforts across the UK. Your contribution will directly impact our cardiac screening programmes, research initiatives, and support services for affected families.
You have the opportunity to make a significant impact in saving young lives.
Help save young lives

How CRY helps save young lives

  • Screening to identify life-threatening cardiac conditions. CRY has screened over 290,000 young people.
  • Research to improve our understanding of the conditions that cause young sudden cardiac death. CRY has funded more than 40 Research Fellows.
  • Awareness amongst the general public and healthcare professionals, preventing young sudden cardiac death.
  • Support for families affected by the devastating impact of young sudden cardiac death. CRY has provided support to more than 3,000 families.

We believe in transparency and accountability. That's why we're proud to share that 83.6p* of every pound CRY spends goes directly towards our charitable activities of screening, research, awareness, and support.

*The UK Charity national average is 70.1p (NCVO, 2023)
