FARMERS are mounting a New Yearโ€™s Eve tractor run to help save young lives.

The charity event follows the tragic death of Mia Jennings, 19, from cardiac arrest.

The teenagerโ€™s sudden death, almost a year ago, left her family and friends devastated.

A memorial fund has been set up by her family to raise funds for the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

All the donations will be used to support a screening programme and fund research.

Northwich dad Kevin Woodward, 38, who is organising the tractor run, said: โ€œWe want to do all we can to raise awareness and try and save the lives of young people.

โ€œYoung farmers do strenuous work and long hours and often donโ€™t have time to get their health checked.

โ€œWeโ€™ve had a fantastic response. So far, 25 tractors have signed up and lots more say they will turn up on the day.โ€
