The Virgin Money London Marathon is the largest annual fundraising event on the planet – runners have raised over £890 million for good causes since the race began in 1981. The course follows an iconic route taking in many of London’s landmarks, from the Cutty Sark and the City to St James’ Park and The Mall.
CRY welcome any own place runners who would like to run for us. We will provide you with a London Marathon runners pack and either a running vest or technical t-shirt to wear for the event. Please email events@c-r-y.org.uk for more information.
If you would like to create an online donation page for this event please visit the Virgin Money Giving website. Please be aware this link is only for runners who have a confirmed CRY place or have their own place and would like to run for CRY.
Final details for the day…
All runners should have received an email from the London Marathon regarding registration. You MUST respond online to this survey, as your response will then trigger the all-important second communication. This will advise you of your Running Number (1) and will convey essential information about how you pick up your physical number (2) at ExCel, London E16, in Marathon Week.
If you do not reply to the first email, you will not receive the second one and will not be able to run.
If you haven’t seen the first “survey” email by now, check your spam/junk folders (and any other email accounts you own in case you registered with a different email address). If you do not receive it, email helpdesk@londonmarathonevents.co.uk stating your full name and date of birth.
You can register at the excel centre on the dates and times below:
Weds April 24: 11am to 8pm
Thurs April 25: 10am to 8pm
Fri April 26: 10am to 8pm
Sat April 27: 8.30am to 5pm

London
E16 1XL
If you have not collected your running number by 5pm Saturday 27th, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RUN. THEY CLOSE ON TIME – NO EXCEPTIONS.
If you cannot make these dates, you need to plan ahead and get someone else to collect your running number and kitbag for you. A fellow runner can only pick up one Runner number/pack in addition to his/her own. You can nominate a non-runner: entry is free but he/she will need to take proof of your ID.

Cheering Stations on Route
We are pleased to say that we will have 3 CRY cheer stations on route which will be stationed at mile 12, 21 and 25 – look and listen out for the CRY Cheer Squads – they’ll be shouting for you! Your supporters are more than welcome to join us at any of the cheer points so please do pass on the information.
Mile 12 is close to Bermondsey Tube Station, Mile 21 is close to Limehouse Tube Station and Mile 25 is close to Embankment Tube Station. Please encourage your friends and family to cheer for all CRY runners, and to take photographs of Team CRY – if you could forward any that they take to events@c-r-y.org.uk, we would be extremely grateful. It’s always lovely to have shots of our amazing runners.

Post-race Facilities
We will be offering post-race facilities at the Washington Mayfair Hotel, 5 Curzon St, Mayfair, London W1J 5HE and a shuttle service will be available for our runners from the finish to the Hotel. (Please note: if you have ran for us in previous years the hotel location has changed). We hope that you’ll be able to join us there for a well-deserved shower and massage. We look forward to congratulating you for all your hard work and support.
We have a wonderful team of massage therapists who are volunteering their time and expertise and we have booked a number of bedrooms for shower facilities. Refreshments will also be available for runners. Your family and friends are more than welcome to join you at the hotel.
The Washington Mayfair Hotel have very kindly offered a 15% discount on food and beverage orders placed at the bar. Please ask your friends and family to mention that they are with a CRY runner when ordering their food and/or drinks, to obtain the discount on their order.
At the End of the Race
Please do not go to the A-Z meeting area when you cross the finish line. Look out for the Duke of York monument on your left (a statue atop a huge column)-turn left up the Duke of York steps, directly in front of the column. When you reach the top, you will be on Waterloo Place. Look out for CRY volunteers wearing CRY T-shirts, holding a CRY flag. They will be looking out for you!
There will be two minibuses providing a shuttle service and these will be available to transport Team CRY after the Marathon from Waterloo Place to the hotel. Please click here to view the map of the finish area, showing Waterloo Place and where CRY volunteers will be, waiting to meet and direct you to the minibus. Whilst we operate this shuttle service for runners, if there is any spare room on a trip we may also be able to accommodate some of your supporters. Due to the heavy traffic on the day, you may have a bit of a wait for the shuttle, but the volunteers will keep you company and have a few drinks and snacks with them.
You may, of course, make your own way to the hotel if you do not wish to wait for the shuttle. The hotel is just under a mile from the finish, off Piccadilly, and very close to Green Park Station; click here to view a map of the hotel.
Should you need to contact us on the day, Nicola’s number is 07872 604 159 but if you cannot get through, please call the hotel on 020 7499 7000 and ask to speak to one of us. We will be at the hotel until 18.00.
Any queries you may have regarding the race itself or the Marathon Expo should be directed to CRunCH if you are a CRY Place runner (charity golden bond place). Please refer to your Pre-race info download in YOUR SPACE on www.crunch.org.uk for key pre-race and on-the-day practical advice and also watch out for a new Team News message, also in YOUR SPACE, giving details of how to send “offline” money to CRY.
If you are a Ballot Place runner and have any questions please contact the London Marathon help desk on 020 7902 0200.
We will be pleased to help with any queries relating to fundraising, after race facilities, cheering points etc.
Please note: The CRY office is closed from Friday 26th from 5pm until Monday 29th 10am so if you have any questions, please leave a message with Nicola on 07872 604 159. Messages will be checked intermittently.
Finally, we hope you enjoy the day! We are looking forward to meeting you and hope you are able to come to the hotel after the race. We would like to say a huge thank you from all of us at CRY for your incredible hard work and support, which is truly valued and appreciated.
Good luck!
