In May 2016 Lewis’s family kindly transferred £10,000 from his Memorial Fund to support CRY’s Cardiology Research Programme at the CRY Centre for Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions.
CRY’s Research Programme is vital in enabling us to better understand, identify and manage cardiac conditions which could cause a young sudden cardiac death.
Lewis’s family have made this transfer to research as well as arranging screening events in his memory which have facilitated the cardiac testing of over 2,100 young people to date. The family have also funded the purchase of three ECG machines, an Echocardiogram machine and a defibrillator for CRY. This is following the incredible support received in Lewis’s memory since his tragic death in 1998.
