On the 26th July, I embarked on a 24 hour run around an athletics track for the Rasselbock 505 race. I did have the initial target of 4 marathons in one day but it was about at the half way point that realised it wasn’t going get there, so I had to keep adjusting the target as i went round.
It was between 1AM-4AM when It was toughest it had dropped cold, my family had gone and my feet were in agony. I just had to keep going very slowly around the track. I was spurred on by the other athletes and the thought of my family coming to see me at the end keep me going.
It did get better, it was nice running as the sun came up, I finished on 300 laps which is 75miles, I ran the last lap with my wife and 2 girls which was such a special feeling.
I was pleased to have been able raise over £1200 for a charity very close to my heart.
