Most of the time as a volunteer you will not be asked to handle sensitive information relating to CRY. However, there may be times when you need to have someone’s personal information (e.g. a contact phone number) or you may be told something of a confidential nature. The type of information will depend largely on the way in which you are volunteering for CRY, for example, the type of information you would receive when volunteering at an event such as the Heart of London Bridges Walk will be very different to the type of information given to a CRY representative or a CRY bereavement supporter. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact CRY’s Volunteer coordinator by emailing volunteering@c-r-y.org.uk.Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement I agree that all knowledge I gain of CRY and it’s supporters – both actual and potential – is to be treated as confidential both during and after my period of volunteering with CRY. I agree that I will not disclose, either during or after this time, any information of a confidential nature relating to CRY, its supporters, or any third party. Any statements to reporters from newspapers, radio, television, etc. should – where practically possible - be given by, or approved by, the CRY Chief Executive or CRY’s PR team (Trinity PR). Where this is not possible, I will endeavour to check CRY’s latest key messages at www.c-ry.org.uk/key-messages before giving any statements. Any concerns about interactions with the media should be raised with Trinity PR at the earliest opportunity in order to get suitable advice. I agree that any personal information shared with me about CRY supporters will be kept securely in accordance with CRY’s privacy policy. All hard copy records will be kept in secure locations and will be destroyed when they are no longer necessary for me to undertake my role, and digital records will be deleted when no longer required. I will not retain any personal information about CRY supporters for longer than is necessary. I understand that any data breach must be reported to CRY as soon as possible, as CRY is obligated to report data breaches within 72 hours of them being noticed. I will strive to avoid any conflict of interest between the interests of CRY on the one hand, and personal, professional, and business interests on the other. Any actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest are to be declared to the member of CRY staff you have been liaising with or to cry@c-r-y.org.ukKeeping in touchBy completing this form, your details will be added to our database and we will make contact with you regarding CRY volunteering opportunities by telephone, email or post.
