Dr Raghav Bhatia

Raghav qualified from the Norwich Medical School with distinction in basic science research in 2011. He was awarded an open scholarship for the duration of his studies in view of academic performance. He spent his foundation years working in Great Yarmouth, Norwich, and Kings Lynn. He pursued core medical training, which was followed by the attainment of a Cardiology national training number in North & East Yorkshire.  Raghav achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2014. His passion for medical education has since led him to organise and facilitate several MRCP preparatory courses around the UK.

Raghav’s cardiology training to date has been diverse with competencies developed in cardiovascular imaging and interventional cardiology. He has completed the European Examination in General Cardiology in 2019. He is currently undertaking a higher research degree under the guidance of Dr Michael Papadakis & Professor Sanjay Sharma as a CRY research fellow, at St. George’s University of London. His primary research interests include evaluating the role and efficacy of cardiovascular screening in individuals aged 14-35 years. He is also co-lead of the novel Sports Cardiology MSc, held at St. George’s.

Raghav was elected onto the British Junior Cardiology Association (BJCA) council in 2017 and has since been voted the best deanery representative for two years running by his colleagues which has been recognised by the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS). Outside of medicine, Raghav is a proud husband and father. He enjoys spending time with his family & friends, travelling, and all things cricket!
