The Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation has held a number of fundraising events over the past 12 months from walks, cycling, raffles, & most recently a Masquerade Ball. The ball was the foundations first fundraising ball held on 9th October where we thought it would be a great opportunity to do a surprise cheque presentation to a family in memory of their child & the charity they support.
Like our family they also lost their child who was under the age of 21, 4 years ago, which was also under devastating & shocking circumstances due to a cardiac arrest. We have been friends with Sarah & Gary Greenwood for over 35 years and the cheque was donated from The Georgia Leigh Ogden in memory of their son Tom Greenwood.
The charity that they support is CRY – Cardiac Risk in The Young. Because of their son both our children were screened by their programme which aims to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research for age groups 14-35, and supports affected families. If you or your child hasn’t been screened, please think about it as it could save a life!
