We have had a very emotional weekend. It started two weeks ago when my son, Bonn Halliwell, was asked if he would like to run in the Manchester Marathon.

Having never done anything like this before, Bonn took on the challenge – running in memory of his brother Joseph Halliwell and proudly wearing a CRY T-shirt with Joe’s name on.

He set off from Trafford and we managed to cheer him on halfway around the course and over the finish line. Bonn’s dad, Simon Halliwell, ran the last 2 miles with him. People were cheering “Go Joe!” to Bonn, because his T-shirt had Joe’s name – that was so emotional.

Bonn crossed the finish line having run the 26.2 miles in 4 hours 58 minutes and 30 seconds. An amazing achievement; we are so proud of him.

The day before the Manchester Marathon, on the Saturday, a good friend of ours, Adam Gittings (The Gitt Racing), did his first motorbike race at The Three Sisters race track in Wigan. Adam has had the CRY logo put on his race bike in memory of Joe and to raise awareness at the races.

We are very pleased to say that Adam came second in one of his races and we are going to be supporting and cheering him on at his future races as well.

 We have so far managed to raise £12,835 for CRY since we tragically lost our beautiful and wonderful son, Joseph.
