“Generally considered the biggest fundraising event in the Four Pillars Hotels calendar is the Family Fun Day, which was again held at Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel on Sunday 15th September.

We had been carefully watching the weather and all had our fingers crossed, but unfortunately we had to give in and take the event indoors. Not that it was a problem, as a fantastic time was had by all!!

For those brave enough to venture outdoors we had the Bungee Run, Bouncy Castle and Face Painting (under cover!) and the Sea Cadets were on hand to give Boat rides. For those who didn’t fancy getting wet or blown away, there was a lot more going on inside the hotel…

We were pleased to have some local crafters attend the event and the Spotty Strawberry bags were very popular indeed! In addition to this, there were cakes, sweets and even candy floss to accompany the BBQ and cake decorating. Aside from the selection of tempting food, there was bric-a brac, guess the sweets, guess the bear’s birthday and book stall but most popular of all was the tombola, which was almost sold out! We were also lucky to have some special guests arrive on the day as we welcomed Ben 10 and Peppa Pig, who came to say hello to the children, they even posed for a photo for us! (Picture below)

We would like to say Thank you to Blue Hat Group for providing the inflatable entertainment, crazy golf and large garden games (which were inside the Little Barn) and for showing their support for the event. We would also like to thank everyone who donated either their time, money or goods for the event as without these, the event would not happen!

We are delighted to announce that the Family Fun Day raised £929 for CRY.”
