Storeys 24-Hour Padelathon Raises Over £2,815 for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)
This weekend, the court at Hartford Tennis Club was alive with energy, determination, and community spirit, as the Storeys team took on the challenge of a full 24 hours of padel tennis – all to raise money and awareness for the life-saving work of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
From 11:00am on Saturday 26th July through to Sunday morning, our team – joined by local supporters, players, families, and businesses – kept the games going non-stop. There were moments of laughter, exhaustion, and competitive flair, but above all, it was a heartwarming show of solidarity for a cause that truly matters.
💙 Why We Played
Each week, at least 12 young people in the UK die suddenly from undiagnosed heart conditions. CRY exists to reduce this tragic statistic through cardiac screening, awareness, research, and family support. They offer subsidised ECG and Echocardiogram screening for young people aged 14–35, free public events, and NHS screening for families affected by loss.
This charity means a lot to us, and the turnout at the event – both on court and on the sidelines – reflected how important this cause is to our wider community.
🎟️ The Fundraising Continues!
We’re proud to have already raised over £2,815 — and we’re not finished yet!
