On September 29th 2023 my wife and I lost our precious baby girl, suddenly and unexpectedly, she was 6 months old. Post mortem results showed an enlarged heart (Cardiomegaly) which, following further testing of the immediate family is a genetic condition called MYH7 which we only found out following the passing of our daughter.
Me and my wife, along with friends and family aim to do a challenge each year on either her birthday 23rd March or the anniversary of her passing whilst also raising money to donate to charity. This year we took on the Yorkshire three Peaks challenge. It is 25 mile walk which has some beautiful views, but the terrain is tough on your joints. By doing this challenge we were able to raise over £2,000 to donate to CRY. We chose CRY because we understand the importance of screening and getting the appropriate care for our little ones should they ever have heart health problems. In honour off our beautiful little girl Molly, we hope that any money we can raise will help or prevent a young child and their families going through what we went through.
Keep up the great work, CRY
Molly Redden
