I took part in Tough Mudder back in September alongside three of my mates to raise money in memory of my childhood family friend, Ben.
I’ve always wanted to do something in his name. I’ve never forgotten his face, and I feel incredibly lucky to still be here. This day was, without a doubt, dedicated to him.
Knowing the incredible work CRY does raising awareness of young sudden cardiac death and how important this is in tackling what is often a silent yet largely preventable condition, made choosing this charity an easy decision. Sudden cardiac death takes far too many young lives, like Ben’s, without warning and with devastating impact.
I never imagined we would raise £690, so I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who supported, donated, and came along on the day. A special thank you to Blakey, George, and Greg for getting behind the cause.
It truly felt like taking Ben along – giving him a run out to see the world. Looking back on the event brings a real sense of togetherness, and for that, I’m incredibly thankful.
