On Saturday 25th April, my husband Gordon and I held a Charity Ball, with the theme of James Bond, to raise funds to continue the provision of cardiac screening for young people in Dumfries and Galloway, at the Moffat House Hotel in Moffat.
We had incredible support from Moffat House Hotel owners Keith and Carol Parr and their staff to host the event, and from Douglas McCallum at Coppertree Photography, and the skills and repartee of Mr Graham Black MC, which ensured a wonderful evening for all our guests. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors: Stobo Castle, Tesco Lockerbie, Dark Sky Spirits, Donna Johnstone, Cameron & Grace Armstrong, Annandale Arms Hotel, Manchester United Football Club, Rangers Football Club, Campbell’s Confections, Moffat Town Hall Trust, Heineken, Sasha Carlyle and Hugo’s, and Mr Tom Miller, as it is with all of their support our auction was such a success. We also recognise the outpouring of local support from businesses and friends in Moffat who contributed to the raffle with prizes and experiences.
Guests arrived to a welcome drink in the beautiful gardens on a sunny afternoon, followed by a 3 course meal, Bollinger Champagne Bingo thanks to Dan Bevins and Rob Craig at the Annandale Arms, an auction which included a Manchester United shirt signed by the full 2025/26 squad, and a raffle, with entertainment provided by Josephine and the Shades. There was style, mystery and excitement along with a great deal of fun, and everyone commented on what a wonderful evening they had.
In total, the event raised an incredible £6,560!
