Alfred Charles Naylor
In memory of Alfie Naylor, a beloved son, brother, grandson and loyal and loving friend who tragically passed away from SADS (sudden arrhythmia death syndrome) on 31st August 2025. Alfie was a healthy, energetic 19-year-old – committed to his career in farming and enjoying life to the full and who never shied away from helping others.
We are committed to raising awareness about cardiac issues in young people. Alfie’s untimely death at just 19 years old highlights the urgent need for increased awareness, early detection, and preventive measures to combat heart conditions that can silently threaten the lives of young, seemingly healthy individuals.
As well as raising awareness about cardiac issues in young people we also want to initially fund a Screening Day in Alfie’s name. This would be local to where Alfie lived near Boston Spa and give 100 young people the chance to get tested at the event. To put on just one event costs £1000’s and we would hugely appreciate anything you feel you can donate – however small. It would just be hugely appreciated to help us raise the money to hold one screening and possibly save a life.
Our plan is to continue fundraising to hold more Screening events in Alfie’s name. We will keep you updated over the coming months on events we plan to raise money and, in the meantime, please donate what you can and feel free to share this link far and wide. The more young people we can test the more we prevent more families like ours losing our wonderful boy.
Look out for events and if you’d like to raise funds in Alfie’s name, please get in touch.
This memorial fund has been set up by the family to help CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death, support those affected, support CRY’s screening programme and fund research and pathology.
