Anja Wilson

Anja Wilson tragically passed away on 1st June 2025, aged just 19. She was a kind, thoughtful, and quietly brilliant young woman, with a deep love of nature, music, and a simpler way of life.
Anja was on her gap year and looking forward to starting a degree in Biology at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh in September. She had so much to give to the world — a calm strength, a sharp mind, and a gentle soul who found joy in the beauty around her. She loved long walks, old records, and time spent in the countryside. Her favourite artists included The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and Hozier, whose lyrics reflected her love of emotion, meaning, and connection.
Anja passed away suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition. We are devastated by her loss, but determined to honour her memory by supporting CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), a charity working to prevent other families from experiencing the same unimaginable pain.
Since setting up Anja’s Memorial Fund, the response from our community has been overwhelming. Over £32,000 has now been raised, including £3,500 donated to CRY’s core fund, helping to support their vital work nationally. In Anja’s memory, we have three cardiac screening events already booked, with further screenings currently being planned. These events will provide potentially lifesaving heart checks for young people aged 14–35, helping to detect hidden cardiac conditions before tragedy strikes.
We remain committed to continuing this work in Anja’s name, so that more young people can be screened and more families can be spared the heartbreak we have experienced. Any further support, whether through donations, fundraising, or simply sharing this page, will help us extend Anja’s legacy and reach even more young lives.
Thank you for visiting this page, for remembering Anja, and for supporting a cause that now means the world to us.
