“All returned from Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle. 9 days of over 100 miles a day on average with plenty of hills. Tough work, with only 2 days that didn’t rain at some point. By the time we arrived in Scotland it was also quite cold and usually overcast which meant it was a much tougher psychological task. Highlights include cycling over Dartmoor on the nicest day with very steep, long climbs in places but great views which unfortunately my photos don’t do justice; cycling 2 miles over the Severn Bridge with the wind howling; the climb up Shap Fell in Cumbria and the lovely descent; Glencoe in the Highlands on Scotland; and of course coming over the hill at the end and seeing the end in sight, a mile downhill!”
