Barlaston Cricket Club set to host screening day and celebrity cricket match in memory of Edd Ridgway

Screening for Cardiac Risk in the Young and charity Twenty20 cricket match to be held

Barlaston Cricket Club are hosting a charity day featuring a Twenty20 match, live bands, DJ and heart screening event in memory of Edd Ridgway next month.

Talented boxer Edd, from Barlaston, was only 23 when he died suddenly in 2016 and he has not been forgotten. His friends at the cricket club have organised a summer event in his honour on Saturday, July 17, from 10am until 10pm.

Cardiac Risk in the Young will screen a hundred young adults while a celebrity CRY Invitation XI will take on a Barlaston Select team in a charity game from midday. A DJ will perform between 4pm and 6pm and live bands will be on stage between 7pm and 9.30pm.

An entry wristband costs £2, with children under 10 admitted for free. Any donations will be utilised by CRY to enhance their research programme, while supporting families following the sudden loss of a young person.
