Big raffle to boost charities

Chocoholics are being offered the chance to win a whopping five-kilo Easter egg in a raffle that will benefit two good causes.

The two-feet high egg, worth £100, has been manufactured by Kernow Confectionary who have donated it to raise money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance and CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).

The giant egg is now on display in the Kernow Harvest shop in Wade bridge where raffle tickets are available.

Shop owner Alex Shapland said all the money raised would go directly to the two charities, and there was a special reason why one of them was CRY.

Alex explained: "Three years ago we lost our 14-year-old daughter Tabitha, who had a heart attack in her sleep, and the charity was incredibly helpful towards us, and we raise money for it whenever we can."

The raffle will be drawn on Good Friday and the winner can collect their prize egg the following day.
