CRY Great Cake Bake:

NHS England chose C-R-Y as their preferred charity for October-December and I undertook a ‘Great NHS England Bake off’ on Monday 27 November, followed by a cake sale. Michelle Lake, Head of Revalidation played a key role in devising the poster and organising the day with me.

12 fantastic entries were received from staff within the Medical team, Nursing and Quality, Ops & Delivery, Finance team and Networks & Senate, all of whom were deserving of a prize.

It was definitely a difficult decision for the three experienced judges. Elliot Howard-Jones, Manjit Darby and Aly Rashid had the task of tasting the baking and marking for both appearance and taste.

1st Place                          Lisa March, Assistant Director of Quality

2nd Place                         Sukhi Semar, Administrator in the Appraisal & Revalidation Team

3rd Place                         Wendy Hoult, Better Care Fund Implementation Manager for Ops and Delivery

Following the competition, the cakes were sold off with £254 being raised on the day.

Raffle:

A Mega Raffle was held between October and November. Between September to October I contacted friends, family, and many organisations asking for support of raffle prizes. My family donated the first three prizes shown on the attached flyer. There were a total of 30 prizes donated. Tickets were sold for £1 each and £775 was raised.

Total raised from the two fundraisers: £1029.00

Thorpe Langton Village Christmas Party:

Sue Lambert organised the annual village xmas party on Sunday 3 December which took place in the Bakers Arms, Pub/Restaurant, Thorpe Langton.  The owners Kate and Tim Hubbard close on a Sunday evening but kindly opened to the villagers for their annual get together.  £375 was raised on the night with the funds being split between three charities; one of which was to C-R-Y.
