As part of CRY’s raising awareness week in November 2025, Hayley (Richard’s wife) held a cake sale at her workplace to raise both funds for future heart screenings and awareness of the charity itself. The day was a roaring success with a huge variety of baked goods on offer, many of which were home-made and included wares from friends of the Brember family too. As well as cake, there was lots of information about the charity available too with Hayley’s colleagues gaining knowledge on the heart screening process and how to go about securing a screening either for themselves or a loved one. A grand total of over £400 was raised on the day, which was absolutely fantastic, with hopes that it can be repeated next year too.

Hayley also ensured that her office’s Book Nook (book borrowing library) was advertised too, which she co-ordinates at her office with donations going into Rich’s Memorial Fund with CRY to fund future screening days. Since April 2024, £179 has been raised through book donations – the equivalent of 2 heart screenings being paid for.
