The family of a young Suffolk footballer who died suddenly are hoping to create a “meaningful legacy” for him by protecting other young people through a series of cardiac screening events.
Relatives of Halesworth Town footballer Toby Chenery are partnering with charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), which offers subsidised electrocardiogram screening (ECG) for people aged 14 to 35.
The 23-year-old, who was the top goalscorer for Halesworth’s Reserves, with 12 goals in 15 games, died in his sleep in February.
