On Sunday 9th September 2012, Grant Thomas and Emily Brown took part in the Cardiff 10k in memory of Jack Thomas. Grant completed the run in 54 mins and Emily in 1hr 12 mins and they raised a wonderful £1,142.00 in Jack’s memory.

“On 9th September 2012, Emily Brown (Jack’s girlfriend) and I ran the Cardiff 10k in memory of my son Jack.

It was a warm sunny morning as we headed into Cardiff for the race. We were not sure what to expect as neither of us had entered a race like this before. We were welcomed by over 3000 competitors and even more spectators.

Thousands lined the race route cheering us on making it a really enjoyable but emotional experience. I achieve my target of less than 1 hour, crossing the line in 54.14 mins and Emily crossed the line in 1hr 12 mins.

Together Emily and I raised a magnificent £1,012 to add towards the £130.00 which was raised on the Virgin Money Giving site for the Jack Thomas Memorial Fund.”
