Event Write-up

Ironman Canada in memory of Harry Faulkner

http://www.justgiving.com/JohnnieL So it’s done and a massive “thank you” to you all.  Over £5,400 raised so far, an amount that will make a massive difference to the work that CRY do.   So the race: a very quick (for me at least) synopsis….. 12 hours 12 minutes – not entirely according to plan but if you’d offered

Ashley and Scott Jackson ran 10 miles from Consett to Swalwell

My husband and I ran 10miles from Consett to Swalwell in the north east of England on 17th August 2013 and raised £153.50 for CRY. We organised the run following my husband and our four year old sons recent diagnosis of long QT syndrome. It was an upsetting time for us but we wanted to do

Skydive in memory of Emma Hurlbut

On Saturday 17th August 2013, I did a tandem skydive at Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent in memory of my daughter Emma. I cannot say that it was a lifelong ambition – quite the opposite really – but I wanted to do something that took me out of my comfort zone and I most certainly achieved that.

Coast to Coast: West Section – in memory of Alex Reid

The aim was to undertake a walking challenge to raise money and awareness for CRY in memory of Alex Reid.  Was it a challenge to complete the 90 miles in 5 days? You bet!  Did I raise money and awareness? Any fellow walker heard or gave to my clinking CRY collection tin as it grew ever heavier with

Ironman UK in memory of Craig Burling

I started training for the 2013 Ironman UK in November 2012, after long hard consideration about entering the event. My best friend’s brother – Craig Burling – had tragically passed away through SADS a number of months prior and the decision to do the event on behalf of CRY was an easy one. I would like to

York 10k in memory of Aimee Wellock

Sadly in 2005 I lost my sister – bubbly, loving, full-of-life Aimee Wellock – to a previously unknown heart condition aggravated by a violent assault. Over the past years, we have had brilliant support from both our family and friends, as well as the charity CRY. Sunday 4th August 2013 was the day of my first
