Dublin Marathon in memory of Michelle Sinclair

25th October 2010 The death of Michelle Sinclair from Lisburn, Co Antrim in January 2007 at the age of 20 from an undiagnosed heart condition, allowed me to see at first hand the devastation caused not only to her own immediate family but to her friends and the community as a whole. After much soul searching

Sackville 6th Form vs Imberhorne 6th Form Charity Football Match – in memory of Adam Dabell

The 7th Adam Dabell Annual Memorial Match was, once again, extremely well attended, particularly by the young people of the town. The Sackville v Imberhorne ‘Old Boys’ match kicked off the evening with some very energetic and skillful football. I’m afraid I couldn’t tell you their final score but I wonder if they could either! I

Peru Trek in Memory of Debbie Suau-Marcus

On the 1st October 2010 I completed the Machu Picchu Trek in Peru to raise money for CRY and awareness of SADS – but most importantly in the memory of my sister Debbie Suau-Marcus (below) who died of SADS at age 24. Debbie went to sleep one night and never woke up. She left behind her

Great Salford Swim

There was bitter disappointment for all participants when this year’s Great North Swim at Lake Windermere was cancelled at such short notice due to the presence of blue-green algae in the water. There is no doubt that the cancellation of this event hit many charities quite hard this year.

Run to the Beat Half Marathon

26th September 2010 Thank you and congratulations to all the CRY runners who made it on Sunday 26th. Because of transport problems (planned and unplanned closures; and delays on the Jubilee line) the start of the race was delayed by 45 minutes to allow as many runners as possible to get to the start. CRY did

Chris Walsh's Channel Swim

21st September 2010 I started the swim at 7:55am with perfect weather conditions. There was next to no swell or wind and the sun was just coming up. The sea temperature was between 16 and 17 degrees, which when compared to a regular swimming pool (28 degrees or so) is relatively cold, but as open water
