On a slightly overcast Wednesday in July, Discovery and The Thinking Shed embarked on a walk in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young.
Having been unable to make the official walk earlier in the month, we decided to come up with our own route, which would take us around 12 London landmarks, in order to raise awareness for the fact that at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions every week in the UK.
The route was roughly 4 miles, and took us from our office, across the river twice, before finishing at St. Paul’s.
Below is the list of stops that we made:
- 1. 110 Bishopsgate
- 2. 30 St. Mary’s Axe
- 3. 20 Fenchurch Street
- 4. The Monument
- 5. Tower of London
- 6. Tower Bridge
- 7. HMS Belfast
- 8. The Shard
- 9. Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre
- 10. Tate Modern
- 11. Millennium Bridge
- 12. St Paul’s Cathedral
All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable walk, and we are pleased to have raised £1,380 so far for the charity. Thanks to everyone for their donations!
