A chance to see Santa on his sleigh in streets in Sutton Coldfield and Erdington on the run up to Christmas has been announced with a host of routes confirmed by two community groups. Members of Wylde Green Rotary and The Rotary Club of Erdington will be heading out on the roads of the neighbouring towns in the coming weeks to bring festive cheer and to help good causes.

Wylde Green Rotary is raising cash CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young. The charity works to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research and supporting affected families.

The money raised will be used to establish ‘local screening sessions for people aged 14 to 35’. The rotary group said ‘screening will be taking place next year in Sutton Coldfield’.

“Members of The Rotary Club of Erdington will be joined by volunteers when they take their sleigh out and about as children gear up for some pre-Christmas excitement – all in the name of fundraising. It is hoped, over the four weekends of collections (one has taken place on November 26), funds will top last year’s £2,600 raised.”
