Dave was the life and soul of every gathering, the first on the dance floor, radiating joy, and making everyone around him feel special. His incredible energy, warmth, and kindness touched so many lives, whether with family, friends, or in his work in the travel industry. He truly lived life to the fullest and encouraged others to do the same.

Tragically, Dave passed away suddenly from a cardiac arrest, with no warning. He was fit, healthy, and full of life, making his loss even more devastating. His passing has left an enormous void, but his legacy of positivity and love for life lives on.

Dave was passionate about people and always lifted those around him. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

While his time was cut short, his impact on the world remains immeasurable.

This is why we, as a family have chosen CRY as the charity to benefit from his legacy. By raising awareness and funds to support screening in the young, we hope to help others and prevent more families from experiencing the heart break of losing a loved one too soon.

There are extremely difficult times, but we try to remember Dave not with sadness alone, but with the joy he brought into our lives. May his spirit continue to inspire us all.

This memorial fund has been set up by the family to help CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death, support those affected, support CRY’s screening programme and fund research and pathology.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Cardiac Risk in the Young receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Following a disco held in Dave’s memory over his birthday weekend, we are proud to donate this amount to C-R-Y. This donation comes from friends, family and colleagues who came together to celebrate his life. A raffle, with prizes donated by from many generous businesses was held, so that even those who couldn’t attend could contribute.
