We attended the Derby 10K where we had a stall handing out literature. The event was very well attended and we experienced a lot of interest. People were keen to learn about screening for young people. We also promoted our music event to be held on 9th June, where again all proceeds will be donated to CRY. We have sold lots of tickets and fantastic prizes have been donated to hold a silent auction on the evening.
Two weeks ago it was our local Well Dressing celebrations and our local pub, The Hawk & Buckle, kindly allowed us to set up a stall to have a tombola with some of the prizes donated and with just 20 prizes we managed to raise over £500 in one afternoon! The Hawk & Buckle also had a beer festival and offered to donate 20p on every pint sold. They presented us with £250 of which we were very grateful to say the least! They have been so kind but recognised that it was a place that James regularly visited and where we also held his wake.
Hopefully after this weekend we should have a total figure for donating to CRY that I am sure will help support their cause and get lots more young people screened.
