Family of Christopher Cowe are taking part in the Kiltwalk to raise funds for CRY in his memory.

Christopher Cowe, 15, was just shy of his 16th birthday when he died tragically and suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition in January 2021. Now, Ross and Shiva Cowe are to take on a 5k walk in Edinburgh to fundraise and stop other parents from experiencing similar heartache.

Ross explained to Edinburgh Live that himself and his wife set up a memorial fund so they could raise awareness for cardiac risk in the young

The cost of a weekend screening for 200 young people is £13,000, it’s about £65 to screen a young person and the couple have raised over £30,000 over the last two years and are hoping to raise a further £2,000 to further their progress.

Ross is taking part in the Kiltwalk alongside his wife, the grandparents of Christopher, family friends, peers of his late son and work colleagues.

The Edinburgh Kiltwalk takes place on Sunday, September 17 and you can read more about the families fundraising here.
