Family of Tom Clabburn Still Fighting to Save Lives in His Memory After 14 Years

My London News, 5th October 2021

Tom Clabburn was 14 years old when he passed away due to an undiagnosed heart condition in 2007. His parents, Paul Clabburn and Claire Prosser (who also tragically passed away due to a heart condition in 2014), set up a memorial fund with Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and, since his death, almost 3,000 young people have been screened for similar conditions thanks to the efforts of his family in his memory as well as in his mother’s. In October 2021, after being suspended due to the ongoing pandemic, CRY announced that free screenings funded by the Tom and Claire Memorial Fund would resume in Ealing and will be taking place at the Trailfinders Sports Club on Sunday, November 7.

Tom’s dad, Paul, stated: “The screenings are a vital part of Tom’s legacy and we are so pleased that they can restart after being halted by the pandemic. We are incredibly grateful to Trailfinders for making their facilities available and to all those who have continued to donate to the Fund. We couldn’t do it without you.”
