Bournemouth Daily Echo – 8th March 2002
Six fire fighters will dress up as red hearts to run the London marathon.
Team members from Springbourne and Redhill stations in Bournemouth are abandoning their tough image for the day to raise cash for national charity CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young.
The charity was selected after one of the members witnessed the death of a young swimmer with heart problems.
Last year, three of the fire fighters raised more than £2000 in the same event.
