We chose to do a fundraiser for CRY as a request by one of Leander Swimming Clubs members-Emma Henderson. Emma now 19 years old was diagnosed with Long QT syndrome in 2008 and has been attending Prof Sharma for testing every 6 months. Initially she was taken out of all physical activity but stopping swimming left a huge void in her life. With help and guidance Emma made a very brave decision to return to competitive swimming in 2012. Emma trains six days a week and is also a member of the Great Britain pool and surf lifesaving team where she currently holds European and World titles. CRY is a charity very close to her heart and it was fantastic to share information and provide leaflets at the recent sponsored swim to raise funds. This was held in Bangor Aurora pool. We do not have a total yet as Emma has since asked other centres she swims for if she can do an evening collection.
