Get the knowledge

If you are interested in finding our more about sports nutrition and fitness testing to boost your winter training, Fit-For coaching may have just the thing for you.

Fit-For has devised a new concept in cycle-related coaching events. Taking place on Saturday October 18 at Nescot Centre for Sports Development in Epsom, Surrey, a group of experts in various fields will provide services and knowledge ranging from cardiac issues and VO2 Max testing procedure to sports nutrition. There will also be two pro cycle mechanics on hand giving tips on how to get the most from your bike.

The day is being supported by cardiac research charity CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young. A seminar from them will explain the importance of screening competitive athletes. You can find out more about this on http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk

Lynn Clay, CW's own nutritionist will be making a presentation on fuelling for training, as well as being on hand to answer all your nutrition questions.

We all know cyclists aren't great at sitting still so to break the day up there will be a 45-minute bike ride taking in a lap of Box Hill and a coffee stop at the view point. During this you'll get the chance to chat to pro cyclist Daniel Lloyd of the An Post Sean Kelly team and two young internationals who have been racing on the continent in 2008, supported by the John Ibbotson Memorial Fund.

The event will be hosted at Nescot Centre for Sports Development, Priest Hill, Ewell, Epsom, Surrey KT17 3DS. The day starts at 10am and ends at 3pm. Coffee and biscuits are provided throughout the day with a light buffet lunch also included.

The event costs £30 and for more information go to
