Gifts are needed for hear charity raffle

The pupils of Whickham School in Gateshead are organising a Leavers' Ball on June 22 at the Swallow Hotel in Gateshead, in the name of Dean Henderson.

A great teenager and special friend, Dean sadly passed away in the summer holidays and this devastated the whole year group. He died of a heart condition, which wasn't detected until he was around 11 years old.

The registered charity, CRY, helped his parents deal with this, and therefore, we would like to help them in any way possible, so we are donating money raised during the ball to the charity.

Readers may not be aware of CRY, which is a charity founded in May 1995 to raise awareness of Cardiac Risk in the Young. It offers support to those who have suffered a loss through a network of affected families and counselling. It also promotes heart screening, ECG testing programmes and contributes to medical research.

We are hoping to have a raffle on the night but we are in need of prizes and we were wondering if readers were able to provide a few kind gifts, they could be used for a raffle.
