Cake deisgn with drop shadow

The CRY Great Cake Bake is back for another year as part of Raising Awareness Week 2025. Whether you want to hold a bake sale at your school, university, workplace or in your local community; we are excited to bake with you once again this year.

When

Friday 14th November 2025

Where

Nation-wide

Register

CRY will be here to support you every step of the way, with advice on fundraising and top tips to make your event a success. Once your register you’ll have access to everything you need to get started, including:

  • Download links to our posters, cake description cards, cake toppers & bunting
  • Recipe ideas – with links to archives of our previous years recipe booklets so you have even more inspiration
  • Blank invitations so you can start inviting guests
  • Fundraising materials
  • Games perfect for your bake sale
  • Support throughout from the CRY Fundraising team

Planning is key to hosting a successful bake sale, so start organising your event early and decide on a venue, invite people to take part and encourage them to donate some bakes. Over the years, we’ve had supporters holding events in schools, universities, workplaces, offices and even dedicated mornings at village halls.

  • The more bakes on offer at your event, and the more people you can encourage to come along, the more money you’re likely to raise for CRY. So, don’t be afraid to spread the word, post on social media, hang posters in your local area, and ask local businesses if they will take a flyer or two.
  • Raffles are a popular and fun way of raising a little extra money, even better if you use some of your bakes as prizes.
  • Hold a baking competition between friends and family, or colleagues – make it a fundraiser by asking for a £2 donation per entry.
  • Set up an online fundraising page for easy donations during your event, and people who can’t make it can still donate to your efforts.
  • Register your event with us and receive a pack with posters, invitations, bunting and more materials to get you set for success.

What do your donations do?

£35 – the cost of the first counselling call with CRY after a young person dies

£85 – an ECG test for 1 person

£308 – an ECG, follow up echocardiogram and a consultation for 1 person

£850- ECG’s for 10 people

£800 – referral of one heart to the CRY Centre for Cardiac Pathology for expert evaluation.

£1200 – myheart support day, for young people living with cardiac conditions.

Competition time

We will be awarding based on the following categories:

1. The Best Cake Design for 2024

2. Most Awareness Raised (Any social media posts
must be tagged with CRY Social Media in the post) @CRY_UK #CRYGreatCakeBake
