We would like to thank Richard Woffendin for running the Great North Run in memory of our darling daughter Vicky, whom we lost in August 2003 to Sudden Death Syndrome.

Richard is the fiancé of Vicky, and dad to Shannon, their beautiful daughter, now 2-and-a-half years old.

Richard was determined to finish the run, and wore with pride a sketch of Vicky on his back. He said about his decision to do the run that, “it was for Vicky,” and he would finish the run in her memory.

As he ran around the course, all that kept him going was what he had promised to do. Richard wore the CRY t-shirt and that also helped to keep him going.

It was all for Vicky and to benefit CRY. Quick calculations on the sponsorship – just over £400. We are hoping to get most of the money on the Justgiving website at www.justgiving.com/vickylj
